Mexican Guacamole - Exotic-tasting salsa

The Mexican guacamole recipe is perfect for all kinds of parties, especially for watching a soccer match with friends. This sauce pairs naturally with tortillas but also goes perfectly with potato chips, breadsticks, crackers, croutons, and bread in general.

What you will like most about this guacamole recipe is that with a few basic ingredients, you can easily replicate it in your kitchen.

To make excellent guacamole, choose perfectly ripe "Hass" avocados. The best avocado should have a dark purple color and yield gently to pressure.

To accompany your sauce, you can prepare tortilla chips at home. Simply cut polenta into triangles and fry them in cooking oil over medium-high heat until they become crispy. Transfer the cooked triangles to a plate and absorb any excess oil.

If you want spicier guacamole, use Serrano chili instead of jalapeño in the recipe.

If you want to keep the guacamole in the fridge for the next day, add a few drops of lemon juice so it won't turn brown quickly.

Let's now look at the ingredients and the preparation procedure.

Ingredients for 4 people:

  • 3 Hass avocados
  • 1/4 cup finely diced red onion
  • 1/4 cup finely diced Roma tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup chopped cilantro without stems
  • 1 finely diced jalapeño pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice

Preparation

  1. Cut the avocado in half.
  2. Remove the skins and place the avocado in a bowl.
  3. Mash the avocados until the consistency is smooth with just a few lumps.
  4. Add the other ingredients to the bowl, in any order.
  5. Gently mix all ingredients together.
  6. Garnish the guacamole with cilantro leaves and serve it in the traditional Mexican stone mortar, the molcajete.
